Al-Ettifaq have registered their interest in Paris Saint Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum and the midfielder seemingly has no future at the Parc Des Princes.
Sports Zone claimed last week that Al-Ettifaq were interested in the former Liverpool midfielder and Steven Gerrard was keen to reunite Jordan Henderson with the Dutch midfielder.
The Dutchman has struggled since his move to PSG in the summer of 2021 and now, under Luis Enrique, the midfielder has essentially been told his future is away from Paris this summer.
L’Equipe, a French outlet, has claimed that the Parisian side will not allow the midfielder to leave on a free transfer but, Al-Ettifaq are preparing an offer for the Dutch midfielder, who spent last season on loan at AS Roma.
The Parisian side have spent a lot of money on reinforcements this summer and are still pursuing Randal Kolo Muani and will need the extra funds to be able to fund the Eintracht Frankfurt forward’s signature.

Al-Ettifaq’s attempts for Wijnaldum
As mentioned, the Saudi side, who are not owned by the PIF like the big four sides in the Pro League, could well be interested in the Dutchman but whether the deal will be completed is seemingly not as straightforward.
According to the report from the French outlet, Al-Ettifaq are ready to make a cash offer for the midfielder with PSG refusing to allow the midfielder to depart for nothing.
The Dutch midfielder would be a superb addition to Steven Gerrard’s side and the deal may well be a simple one to complete due to the Ligue 1 champions’ willingness to let the former Newcastle man go.
The fee that PSG are looking for hasn’t been disclosed in the piece although, you’d imagine, it would be a cheap deal for Gerrard’s side to complete.
