Steven Gerrard has given his thoughts when asked whether the former Liverpool captain would be interested in pursuing Mohamed Salah in the future.
The Egyptian winger has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia but his agent, Remy Abass, played down talk about the winger making the move to the Middle East.
Salah has been an integral force in the Liverpool team since he made the move to the club back in 2017, with 139 goals and 64 assists, the former Chelsea player may well go down as one of the best in the modern era of the Premier League.
Al-Ittihad were ready to offer the winger €90 million (£78 million) a season for the winger who signed a two-year contract extension with Liverpool last summer.

Gerrard’s thoughts on signing Salah
After signing Jordan Henderson from Liverpool, Gerrard’s influence in the deal to sign the 33-year-old is clear, but would the former Liverpool midfielder make a move for Liverpool’s best player?
“The answer is no because Salah is my favourite Liverpool player, the Al-Ettifaq manager said. “I love Liverpool Football Club, so Mohamed can stay where he is. When he wins more leagues and Champions League titles in the future, then we will reconsider it.”
The statement is a frank admission that the Liverpool forward may well be out of the price range for the Saudi side, which is not owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) which owns the big four sides in the Saudi Pro League.
Salah may well make a move to the Middle East in the future but for now, it seems it seems the Egyptian forward will remain at Anfield for the next few seasons.
