Everton forward Demarai Gray made a statement on his social media page a couple of days ago seemingly wanting to be allowed to leave Everton.

The English winger, who joined the club from Bayer Leverkusen in 2021, is seemingly eager to leave the Toffees with his game time at Goodison Park limited at this moment in time.

The 27-year-old has also been linked with Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas and clubs in Saudi Arabia and it seems Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq could well be the main option left for the winger.

“Everton fans have always been great with me but it’s so difficult to play for someone who don’t show you respect as a person,” Gray wrote on his Instagram post.

Well, there were rumours that this was in relation to Sean Dyche’s treatment of the winger but according to a post on X from Ben Jacobs, this was in relation to Gray’s desire to move to Ettifaq.

Gray’s chances of moving to the Middle East

It doesn’t seem the winger is in Dyche’s plan for Everton moving forward and a move to the Saudi Pro League side could be exactly what the Jamaican is looking for at this stage of his career.

According to the post from Jacobs. the post from Gray was in relation to Everton reportedly informing the Saudi side that the former Leicester City winger was not for sale.

Gray wants the move with a three or four-year contract being discussed for around €8m.

Ettifaq had given Everton 24 hours to change their mind and with no news on that front, it seems the deal is probably off, unless the Saudi side comes in with a high offer for the winger.

Were Gray to make a move to the Saudi side then he would link up with Jordan Henderson and Steven Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq.
